Unfortunately, the UHCSR systems are not integrated in any way with the regular UHC systems, so they don't know to tell the provider that you are covered under a student plan or to direct them to UHCSR. StudentResources is a UnitedHealth Group company, but it is a stand-alone division of UHC that exclusively administers all STUDENT plans. This is the most common reason a provider believes that a patient does not have current coverage when they do. Inaccurate information about coverage is likely due to the fact that the provider is attempting to verify your eligibility, benefits, and cost-sharing (deductible, copayment or coinsurance) with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) rather than with UnitedHealthcare StudentResources (UHCSR). First, login to MyAccount to verify your coverage is current. My doctor's office or healthcare provider said I'm not covered or my coverage has expired, but I believe my coverage is current. Who can I contact if I don't understand or need assistance with the medical billing/claims processġ.Benefits that I believe should be payable have been denied.Little to nothing was paid by the Insurance Company.Haven't received an Explanation of Benefits statement within 60 days of my appointment. My doctor/provider said I'm not covered or my coverage has expired. This list of common claims issues is provided to give you information about how these claims issues arise and what you should do to address them, but it isn't an exhaustive list of issues so it is important that you review your claims history and messages by logging into your UHCSR MyAccount. Most of the time, the medical billing/claim process runs smoothly, but occasionally this process encounters problems that may result in delayed or denied claims.
